Don Salcines was orphaned at an early age in the Globe-Miami area but was fortunate to have been adopted by Jack and Edith Salcines. They moved to Mesa, which is where I met Don in eighth grade. When they say, “It is a small world”,….well, it is. Who knew I would end up living in Globe-Miami.  Don went on to become an electrician, and when he found out we were working on a building that needed lots of help, he volunteered at least a couple hundred hours to make sure everything was in good working order. He even paid to replace our lighting with LED lights to help save on our energy cost.

​   Unfortunately, COVID took Don’s life on March 23, 2021, but not before he could do something for the kids of the Globe-Miami area.  His employer, Elevation Solar, was so moved by this story that they have committed to matching all donations made in Don’s name to the Cobre Valley Youth Club up to $1500. If you have the ability to help our CVYC kids, please consider doing so now to help us remember Don and help our kids.
